A Manger Moment Day 12

Do you remember how excited you were as a child at Christmas time? The weeks and days before, building the anticipation for what was to come. Your thoughts were consumed with the gifts that you hoped would be there Christmas morning. On Christmas Eve it all came to a climax so great that you did not think you would be able to go to sleep! The butterflies of joy and excitement were too much! Then on Christmas morning all your hopes, dreams, desires and expectations were fulfilled!

We need to have that childlike faith and expectation of the gifts that God has for us! Our Heavenly Father gives us good gifts every single day and we need to watch in anticipation for them. Scripture says that God loved us so much that He gave His only Son so that we could live with Him forever! That was the best and ultimate gift...the gift of salvation and eternal life in heaven.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16.”

During this Christmas season, let us have that childlike excitement and expectation. Let us get those butterflies of anticipation as we wait and watch for our soon coming King.

“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:3
