A Manger Moment Day 10

A Manger Moment

What we see throughout the Old Testament is a repetition of God’s people turning their backs on him only to pray for saving when times got tough. Sound familiar? One of Moses’ final speeches to the Israelites is a warning of what would happen should they turn against God once in the Promised land. Right after the speech God predicts to Moses that His people will still turn from him even after being warned (Deuteronomy 31: 16-18). After this we see years of God using heroes and Kings to save Israel, just to see His people turn their backs on Him once again.
God realized His only hope to save an evil humanity was to send His only son to Earth wrapped in a swaddling cloth and laying in a manger (John 3:16-21). God knew that His people had failed and turned to darkness and needed a true heavenly savior. We have the Christmas story and the birth of a Savior because God loved us so much, instead of turning his back on us like we have done to him so many times before, He chooses to forgive. God is like that person on 99.9 who has been heart broken by someone he loves (his people) but would do anything to get us back in His life again. It is our choice to live the life he has called for us or to turn our backs on Him like the Israelites of the Old Testament. It is because of Jesus’ birth and sacrifice that we have this choice. Me and my wife hope you all have a Verry Merry Christmas and remember that God loves you all so much that he gave His only Son to save you.

Merry Christmas,
