Under the Influence - Day 1

Day 1: God Has Been So Good

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is easy to rehearse what has gone wrong. It takes faith to rehearse what God has done right. The worship team sang the songs - So So Good and Worthy of it all - in this service and declared that fear turns to worship and tears turn to praise when we begin remembering God's faithfulness. That transformation does not happen automatically. It happens when we make a deliberate choice to look back before we look around. Spend time today recounting specific moments when God carried you. Write them down. Let the remembering become an act of worship. Gratitude is not a feeling you wait for. It is a discipline you practice until the feeling follows.

What is one specific moment in your life where God's goodness was undeniable, and how often do you return to that memory in seasons of difficulty?

Practical Application: Write three things God has done for you that you have not recently thanked him for, and speak them aloud as an act of praise today.
