- Jan 21: For greater effectiveness with our prayer ministry teams. 1 Thessalonians 1: 2-5
1 Thessalonians 1:2-5 New Living Translation
2 We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. 3 As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. 5 For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.
James 5:16 New King James Version
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Matthew 18:20: "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."
1 Timothy 2:1-2: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness".
Ephesians 6:18: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people".
Prayer teams exist to stand in the gap and prayer for the needs of others. This is in direct obedience to the Lord's commands and we must be diligent in the area of prayer. May we see in 2026 a greater hunger to intercede for others and may the healing power of Jesus be evident.
Lord, we are calling for greater dependance on You and Your will. We are asking to see the impossible made possible. And for you dear Lord to be glorified. May Your prayer teams be fervent and effective.
Let's pray everyone,
P Richie

I understand completely. We want it to sound like a humble brother or sister in the pews sharing their heart and their "battle scars" to encourage others, rather than giving a sermon.
nHere is a shorter, more personal version:
nResponse to Today’s Prayer:
nI am so grateful for this church family and the intercessors who build one another up. As we fast and pray together, my heart is for those of us currently walking through the fire.
nHaving been in the "deep waters" of my own storms for 3 1/2 years, I know what it’s like to feel the heat of the flames. But I also know the Holy Spirit is the only anchor that holds. My prayer is that more of us who have been forged by these fiery trenches would feel emboldened to stand together as prayer warriors. There is such a need for intercessors who truly understand the struggle.
nI’m leaning on that anchor right now for my grandkids in Alabama and the events coming up the weekend of the 29th. I’m trusting God to move those mountains and can't wait to be back with you all on the 27th.
nLet’s keep standing in the gap for one another!
