Day 5

Hit the Gym

At the beginning of the year gym memberships are up a remarkable percent.  In fact, gyms bank on people coming out in droves to change their bodies and lifestyles.  However, changing your physical body through diet and exercise takes time.  Admittedly people lack one thing in their life, TIME.  I did a poll in the church a few weeks back and 85% of the people polled said they wanted to give God more time in 2019.  Spiritually, it takes time too to reach the results you are wanting.  God fixes things in an instance but it takes time for us to recognize Him and the things He has accomplished.  Don't get weary in the midst of this fast.  Push on.  Just as you would push to burn those few more calories at the gym, press in to God and allow prayer with God and His word to strengthen your physical man.

So HIT the spiritual gym today, make your workout a priority on your calendar.
James 4:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
1 Timothy 4:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
